Measuring Your Garage Door
There are 5 key measurements to ensure that you order the correct door for your garage and these are outlined below:
  • Measurement 1: The width, brick to brick, between the garage opening.
  • Measurement 2: The height from the floor to underside of the lintel.
  • Measurement 3: The width of the pillar, from the edge of the opening to the wall, on the right hand side.
  • Measurement 4: The width of the pillar, from the edge of the opening to the wall, on the right hand side.
  • Measurement 5: Finally, the height from the underside of the lintel to the roof, preferably at the lowest point.
Please note than when a door size is referred to, ie 7’0 x 6’6, this refers to the panel size, not the total size including the frame. Always allow at least 3” either side and at the top for factory fitted frames.
