Guarantee periods vary depending on the type of door, the door material and the supplier – however most of the garage doors that we supply are covered by a 10 year manufacturers guarantee of safe and reliable operation. This applies to all up and over doors, sectional garage doors and side-hinged garage doors. Roller garage doors have a 5 year manufacturers guarantee, although single skin steel roller garage doors have a surface finish guarantee of 10 years.

In terms of materials, steel door panels typically have a 10 year guarantee, aluminium and fibre-glass door panels have a 5 year guarantee and timber doors, when fully factory finished, have a 2 year guarantee.

All the timber materials that we use – typically for building subframes for garage doors – are tanalised and are guaranteed for 25 years.

We would advise exercising caution when you are offered a very short guarantee with the option to extend it for an additional cost – quality doors are offered with quality guarantees as standard.

The period that different companies offer to guarantee their installation work varies widely but our policy is to cover the door for the life of the manufacturer’s guarantee. Simply put, if your door has a 10 year guarantee and you have an issue with it within that time you can call us and we will come out to assist without charge.

It is worth noting that when arranging a visit our team will always outline that if it turns out that the issue is not covered by the warranty – such as if it has been caused by an unrelated power failure or accidental damage – then the visit will be chargeable. We will always explain our findings to you and we won’t carry out any billable work so you can choose what you want to do.

Of course, even when the guarantee period is passed we will be ready and able to help you with your door.

A great way of heading off issues with the door is to have the door regularly serviced.

The guarantee period for virtually all motors – whether chain driven, belt driven, tube or drive-shaft – is 5 years. Some motors, such as the LiftMaster LM100, have a 7 year guarantee for extended peace of mind.

Accessories, such as remote controls, push buttons and keypads, have a 12 month guarantee.

The standard guarantee period for garage door repairs is 12 months – this applies to the parts themselves and the installation of them.

Doors such as rollers and sectional doors are typically made-to-measure so are not held in stock but roller doors can come through within 2 weeks (and sooner if we ask nicely) whilst sectional doors typically take around 6 weeks to arrive as they are not made in the UK.

When a regular garage door doesn’t meet your security requirements, or you have a more commercial setting for the door, then we can offer a range of both manually operated and motorised steel shutter garage doors.

Most typically finished in zinc-coated, galvanised finish, they are also available factory finished in any RAL colour to suit your colour-scheme.

For motorised doors they are most popularly controlled with a key switch – where you insert a key into a switch adjacent to the door and then turning the key in either direction will open or lower the door. They can though be powered by remote control and also other app controls systems to suit your need.
